QA Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a QA Engineer who goes beyond surface-level UI testing and takes ownership of overall application quality. This role requires a strong understanding of application logic, APIs, and security-aware testing, not just front-end validation.

If your testing approach includes “how can this break, be misused, or fail under edge cases?”, this role is for you.

Note: This role is not limited to front-end or manual UI testing.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and execute manual and exploratory test cases across the full application stack

* Test backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL) using tools like Postman or similar

* Validate business logic, data integrity, and edge cases, not just UI behavior

* Perform security-aware testing (authentication, authorization, input validation, session handling)

* Identify and report defects with clear reproduction steps and technical context

* Collaborate closely with developers to understand features, code changes, and risks

* Participate early in feature discussions to help prevent defects, not just detect them

* Contribute to test plans, regression strategies, and quality improvements

Required Skills & Experience

* 2+ years of experience as a QA Engineer / Quality Analyst / Software Tester on web applications

* Strong understanding of web application architecture

* Experience testing APIs and backend functionality

* Ability to read and understand application code (JavaScript, Java, Python, or similar — reading/debugging, not heavy development)

* Solid grasp of authentication & authorization concepts

* Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and common web security risks

* Experience using bug tracking tools (Jira or similar)

Nice to Have

* Experience with test automation (any framework)

* Basic SQL or database testing experience

* Exposure to CI/CD pipelines

* Prior experience working in agile teams

* Security testing tools (Burp, OWASP ZAP, etc.)
