Job Description of Technician for ACRYLIC Department

Job Summary

The Acrylic Department Technician is responsible for the processing, finishing, repair, and quality control of acrylic dental prostheses, including complete dentures, partial dentures, orthodontic appliances, and other removable dental devices. The technician ensures all products meet prescribed specifications, quality standards, and delivery timelines while maintaining compliance with laboratory safety and infection control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Process complete and partial dentures using heat-cure, self-cure, and light-cure acrylic materials.
• Flask, pack, cure, deflask, trim, finish, and polish dental prostheses.
• Fabricate custom trays, bite blocks, denture bases, and other acrylic appliances.
• Perform denture repairs, relines, rebases, and additions as prescribed.
• Read and interpret dental prescriptions, work tickets, and technical instructions.
• Maintain accuracy in occlusion, fit, aesthetics, and finish of dental appliances.
• Handle and maintain dental laboratory equipment, tools, and materials.
• Follow infection control, health, and safety protocols.
• Maintain proper documentation and case tracking records.
• Coordinate with other departments such as Model, Wax-Up, Metal, CAD/CAM, and Quality Control for smooth workflow.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned cases according to production schedules.
