Wireman

The Wireman (AV Installation) is responsible for executing audio-visual system wiring, installation, and termination at project sites. This role involves reading AV system drawings, routing cables, and ensuring reliable connectivity for displays, AV Systems and control systems. The position demands precision, adherence to safety standards, and close coordination with project and commissioning teams

• Coordinate with on-site security personnel to obtain necessary gate pass endorsements for material entry and exit.
• Confirm with the client before stacking or storing any equipment inside the hall to ensure that the designated off-loading area is approved.
• Place tarpaulin or protective covering on the floor prior to unloading or stacking materials to safeguard venue property.
• Ensure all equipment and materials are handled carefully while being removed from cases to avoid damage.
• Coordinate with the client or site representative to mark layout points accurately before beginning setup, and to obtain confirmation on final placements.
• Allocate and coordinate safe storage space at the venue for empty cases and packing materials.
• Install and route low-voltage AV cables (HDMI, CAT6, speaker cables, control cables, etc.) as per approved drawings.
• Terminate and label cables for audio, video, and control systems (XLR, RCA, RJ45, Phoenix, etc.).
• Assist in mounting and connecting AV equipment such as projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, and rack systems.
• Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and signal flow charts provided by the design team.
• Perform basic cable testing and continuity checks using appropriate tools.
• Maintain proper cable management, dressing, and labelling standards.
• Support engineers in system testing, troubleshooting, and site handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and maintain site cleanliness.
• Maintain installation records and update supervisors on daily work progress.
