Impact
The Advisory Product Security Engineer is responsible for providing expert guidance on designing, building, and maintaining secure products. Also checks for the identification, assessment, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities within PB’s IT infrastructure, applications, and networks on the perimeter. Advisory Product Security Engineer will collaborate with teams across various departments and engage with external vendors and stakeholders to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
The Job
Act as a security advisor to product, engineering, and architecture teams.
Perform threat modeling and risk assessments for applications, APIs, and platforms.
Review system architectures and designs to ensure alignment with secure design principles.
Provide guidance on secure coding practices and remediation strategies.
Lead or support security reviews, including code reviews and design assessments.
Identify vulnerabilities and work with teams to prioritize and remediate risks.
Advice on authentication, authorization, encryption, and data protection mechanisms.
Support DevSecOps integration, including CI/CD pipeline security.
Evaluate and recommend security tools and technologies.
Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends.
Mentor engineers and promote a security-first culture.
Develop and maintain an accurate inventory of assets and vulnerabilities, ensuring that all vulnerabilities are tracked through to closure.
Work closely with IT, DevOps, network, application, and risk management teams to ensure coordinated and timely remediation efforts.
Serve as a subject matter expert on vulnerability management and provide guidance to teams on secure coding practices, patch management, and risk mitigation techniques.
Support audit activities and assist in demonstrating compliance with vulnerability management controls.
Lead and participate in RED team exercises
Qualifications & Skills required
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
Minimum 5+ years of experience in vulnerability management, information security, IT risk management and application security testing.
Proven experience leading or managing a vulnerability management team or program.
Hands-on involvement in RED team exercise.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR)
Familiarity with adversary simulation frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK)
Experience implementing or working with AI/ML in cybersecurity use cases
Scripting or development skills (Python preferred) for automation
Technical Skills:
Understanding of threat intelligence sources and risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, CVSS).
Strong knowledge of network and application security, as well as common vulnerabilities and attack vectors.
Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices
Experience with SAST, DAST, IAST, and software composition analysis (SCA)
Secure SDLC and threat modeling (e.g., STRIDE, PASTA)
