Job Summary:
The AS400 PBM Domain Architect is responsible for the end-to-end architecture, technical governance, and modernization strategy of core PBM applications running on IBM i (AS400). This role serves as the technical and domain authority for pharmacy claims, eligibility, pricing, formularies, and rebate systems.
Responsibilities:
- Own the architecture of PBM systems on IBM i, including claims adjudication engines.
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) leadership for PBM domains such as claims, eligibility, pricing, formularies, and rebates.
- Define high-level designs (HLDs), review low-level designs (LLDs), data models, and batch frameworks.
- Architect integrations with pharmacy networks, eligibility systems, and enterprise platforms.
- Oversee batch design, performance tuning, capacity planning, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Drive AS400 modernization and hybrid integration strategies.
- Mentor offshore AS400 leads and support Level 3/Level 4 production issues.
- Analyze existing legacy applications on the AS400 platform.
- Participate in real-time migration projects.
- Troubleshoot code issues and performance tuning of adjudication projects in the RxCLAIM application.
- Utilize AS400 tools such as ALDON Change Management and SYNON.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong knowledge of healthcare payer systems, processes, and regulations.
- Proficiency in architectural design principles and methodologies.
- Experience with the integration of healthcare data systems and interoperability standards.
- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Good Communication and Team Collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Design architecture for new subsystems in RxCLAIM.
- Troubleshoot defects in QA, regression, and production environments.
- Configuration management using ALDON CMS.
- Review deliverables prepared by the offshore team and conduct walkthroughs with business and client tech leads.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a strong foundation in software development and architecture.
