Role Summary

We are looking for a responsible and technically sound Site Engineer who can manage day-to-day site execution, supervise labour and contractors, check quality of work, coordinate with architects/structural consultants/vendors, maintain site records, and ensure that every activity is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety norms, and company SOPs.

The Site Engineer will be the company’s eyes and control point at site. This person must ensure that no wrong work, poor workmanship, material wastage, unauthorized change, or quality compromise happens at the project site.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

• Execute daily site work as per approved architectural, structural, MEP, and interior drawings.
• Supervise civil construction activities such as excavation, PCC, RCC, shuttering, reinforcement, concrete pouring, brickwork/blockwork, plaster, flooring, waterproofing, finishing, and interior works.
• Ensure all work is done as per technical specifications, quality standards, and approved methodology.
• Coordinate with contractors, labour teams, vendors, and consultants for smooth execution.
• Monitor day-to-day progress and ensure work is completed as per planned schedule.

2. Quality Control

• Check reinforcement, shuttering, concrete mix, cover blocks, alignment, levels, plumb, curing, waterproofing, plaster thickness, tile alignment, finishing quality, and other key execution parameters.
• Ensure proper material quality before use at site.
• Prevent defective work before it happens instead of only correcting it later.
• Report poor workmanship, technical deviations, and quality issues immediately to senior management.
• Maintain quality checklists for each construction stage.

3. Drawing Reading & Technical Coordination

• Read and understand architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, and interior drawings.
• Identify drawing conflicts and raise RFIs before execution.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, and interior designers for clarifications.
• Ensure contractors do not execute work based on assumptions.

4. Material Management

• Check material received at site against purchase orders, specifications, quantity, and quality.
• Maintain material inward and outward records.
• Control wastage of cement, steel, sand, aggregate, tiles, plumbing material, electrical material, and finishing materials.
• Ensure proper stacking, storage, and protection of materials.
• Inform management in advance for upcoming material requirements.

5. Labour & Contractor Management

• Monitor labour attendance, productivity, and work output.
• Ensure contractors are following company standards and approved methods.
• Allocate daily work to contractors/labour as per project priority.
• Stop wrong work immediately and escalate if the contractor does not follow instructions.
• Maintain professional discipline at site.

6. Measurement & Billing Support

• Take site measurements for completed work.
• Verify contractor bills, vendor bills, and quantity claims.
• Maintain measurement books, work completion records, and stage-wise progress records.
• Support project head in preparing running bills, client updates, and cost tracking.

7. Site Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare daily progress reports with photos and videos.
• Maintain site diary, labour report, material report, work inspection report, issue log, and pending work list.
• Share daily updates with management through WhatsApp/app/reporting system.
• Document all important site decisions, changes, delays, and instructions.
• Maintain before-and-after records for every major construction stage.

8. Safety & Site Discipline

• Ensure basic safety at site including helmets, barricading, scaffolding safety, electrical safety, and safe working practices.
• Keep the site clean, organized, and professional.
• Avoid unsafe practices during excavation, slab casting, height work, electrical work, and material handling.
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and risky execution immediately.

9. Client & Management Coordination

• Attend client/site meetings when required.
• Explain site progress professionally to clients, if assigned.
• Maintain company image and client trust at site.
• Ensure transparency without making unauthorized commitments to clients.
• Escalate client complaints, technical doubts, or cost-related discussions to senior management.

10. SOP & Process Compliance

• Follow company SOPs for quality checks, material approval, vendor coordination, site execution, reporting, and documentation.
• Help improve company site execution checklists and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure every project is executed in a repeatable, controlled, and professional manner.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of civil construction execution.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
• Good understanding of RCC, brickwork, plaster, flooring, waterproofing, finishing, and basic MEP coordination.
• Knowledge of site measurements and billing.
• Good supervision and contractor handling skills.
• Strong attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to prepare daily reports with photos/videos.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, Google Sheets, WhatsApp reporting, and construction apps is preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve site-level problems.

Qualification

• Diploma or B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• 2 to 6 years of experience in residential/commercial construction preferred.
• Experience in independent house, villa, bungalow, turnkey construction, or interior execution will be an advantage.

Salary Range

Salary will depend on experience, technical knowledge, site handling ability, and ownership level.

Expected Range: ₹22,000 to ₹35,000 per month

Incentives may be considered based on project performance, quality control, and timely completion.
