GPON Network Engineer (OLT/ONT And Fiber Network Operations)

Key Responsibilities

1. Configure and manage OLT (Optical Line Terminal) devices for FTTH network operations.
2. Configure and troubleshoot ONT (Optical Network Terminal) devices for customer connectivity and service activation.
3. Configure and maintain Firewall devices, VPN connections, and network security policies.
4. Configure and manage Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches including VLANs, routing, trunking, and port management.
5. Monitor network alarms, identify faults, and perform troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime.
6. Provide troubleshooting support for:

• CCTV systems
• Intercom systems
• Internet connectivity
• Prepaid meter systems
• Other network-connected devices

7.Perform backup and restoration of network and communication devices including:

• OLT
• PBX
• Firewall
• Other critical network devices

8.Maintain IP addressing schemes and ensure proper network connectivity using basic networking concepts such as:

• TCP/IP
• Subnetting
• VLAN
• Routing
• DNS
• DHCP

9.Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and internal teams for issue resolution and service implementation.

10.Prepare technical documentation, configuration records, and troubleshooting reports.

11.Ensure preventive maintenance and regular health checks of network infrastructure.

12.Support new installations, upgrades, and expansion of network systems.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of GPON technology
• Understanding of TCP/IP networking
• Experience with Firewall and VPN configuration
• Knowledge of L2/L3 switching
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Basic understanding of network security
• Ability to work independently and in a team
