1. Project Leadership & Delivery

• Own end-to-end delivery of strategic, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource plans
• Ensure adherence to delivery frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
• Monitor risks, dependencies, and change requests with proactive mitigation
• Ensure customer/stakeholder satisfaction and high delivery quality
• Establish and track project KPIs, dashboards, and governance mechanisms

2. Technical Strategy & Governance

• Define and enforce technical standards, architecture principles, and best practices
• Guide technology selection aligned with business and scalability needs
• Review design, architecture, and critical technical decisions
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, performant, and maintainable
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and retrospectives

3. Technical Competency Development

• Assess current technical skill levels across teams
• Define competency frameworks, skill matrices, and role-based capabilities
• Drive training, certifications, mentoring, and upskilling initiatives
• Build Centers of Excellence (CoE) for key technologies where required
• Promote innovation, automation, and adoption of emerging technologies

4. Team & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor Project Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, and Engineering teams
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, QA, DevOps, and Support teams
• Act as escalation point for delivery and technical issues
• Communicate project status and risks to senior leadership clearly

5. Process & Quality Excellence

• Define and improve project execution processes and delivery models
• Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO, CMMI, internal QA frameworks)
• Drive adoption of DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and performance monitoring
• Conduct periodic audits of project and technical health

Technical Competency Requirements Core Technical Knowledge

• Strong understanding of software/system architecture
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of modern development stacks (web, backend, mobile, APIs)
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, microservices, and scalability patterns
• Understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy principles

Project & Delivery Expertise

• Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall, or Hybrid delivery models
• Tools: JIRA, MS Project, Azure DevOps, Confluence, etc.
• Risk, scope, cost, and resource management
• Vendor and third-party coordination

Leadership & Behavioral Skills

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to influence without authority
• Coaching and mentoring mindset
• Strategic thinking with hands-on execution capability

 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent
• PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile certifications (preferred)
• 12–18+ years of experience in engineering/project leadership roles
