Pattern Master

We're hiring!

We are looking for an Experienced Manual Pattern Master to join our team for our label Kawaii by Simpi Datta. You will be the technical backbone of our manufacturing process. From drafting patterns based on tech-packs to grading sizes and ensuring the perfect "fit" on the mannequin, your work will directly determine the quality and cost-efficiency of our garments.

Key Responsibilities

• Pattern Drafting: Manually draft patterns from sketches and tech-packs for women’s wear (tops, dresses, knit leggings, t shirts and indian wear).

• Fit Integrity: Conduct "Fit Sessions" on mannequins to ensure measurements, drape, and proportions meet export standards.

• Grading: Expert-level manual grading of patterns across size sets (S, M, L, XL, XXL).

• Fabric Consumption: Create efficient markers to minimize fabric wastage. You are responsible for ensuring production stays within the "Standard Fabric Average."

• Production Handover: Ensure all patterns have clear seam allowances, grain lines, and notch markings before handing them to the Cutting Department.

Requirements

• Experience: 8-12+ years of experience as a Pattern Master in a boutique or a factory (Experience with natural fabrics like Linen, Organic Cotton,Rayon as well as knit fabrics is highly preferred).

• Skillset: Deep understanding of garment construction, pattern drafting, and size grading.

• Precision: You must be obsessive about measurements.

• Team Player: Ability to work closely with the Creative Director to solve stitching or fitting issues on the floor.
