Warehouse Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead – Warehouse Operations to oversee and optimize warehouse

functions, including inventory management, logistics, and team coordination. The ideal candidate will

ensure seamless operations, timely order fulfillment, and efficient supply chain management while

maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations Management:

• Oversee end-to-end warehouse activities, ensuring smooth operations from receiving to dispatch.

• Implement best-in-class warehouse management practices to improve productivity and accuracy.

• Ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and handling of inventory, optimizing warehouse space and reducing

errors.

• Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve workflow and minimize disruptions.

• Implement lean management principles to reduce waste and enhance efficiency.

• Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure stock availability and timely replenishment.

Inventory Management & Control:

• Ensure inventory accuracy through daily cycle counts, periodic audits, and reconciliation processes.

• Track and manage stock levels, slow-moving inventory, and stock rotation to reduce dead stock and

wastage.

• Identify inventory discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.

• Maintain real-time inventory records in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP platforms.

• Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methodologies are followed to prevent spoilage and stock obsolescence.

Logistics & Dispatch Coordination:

• Oversee and coordinate inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely deliveries.

• Collaborate with transportation providers to optimize shipping costs and transit time.

• Track and monitor shipment schedules, transit status, and order fulfillment timelines.

• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation to prevent transit damages and shipment delays.

• Address logistical challenges and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth last-mile delivery.

Team Leadership & Workforce Management:

• Lead a team of warehouse associates, pickers, packers, and supervisors to achieve operational targets.

• Train and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and safety protocols.

• Plan and manage staff schedules and shifts to maintain efficiency during peak and non-peak periods.

• Conduct performance evaluations and set KPIs for the team to improve warehouse productivity.

• Motivate and develop the team, ensuring high morale and engagement levels.

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:

• Identify bottlenecks in warehouse operations and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

• Analyze warehouse performance metrics (order accuracy, turnaround time, storage utilization, etc.) and

drive efficiency.

• Reduce warehouse costs by optimizing labor, space utilization, and material handling processes.

• Work with senior management to propose automation solutions, digitization, and tech-driven

improvements.

• Implement and monitor energy-efficient and sustainable warehousing practices.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure strict adherence to warehouse safety standards, regulations, and company policies.

• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to minimize workplace hazards.

• Train employees on proper material handling, fire safety, and emergency response protocols.

• Ensure compliance with labor laws, environmental policies, and storage guidelines.

• Maintain accurate documentation for audits, compliance checks, and legal requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or supply chain management.

• Strong understanding of inventory control, warehouse management systems (WMS), and logistics

coordination.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP software (SAP , Oracle, etc.), and data-driven decision-making.

• Experience in team leadership and people management within a warehouse setting.

• Knowledge of e-commerce fulfillment, last-mile delivery, and warehouse automation is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a process-oriented mindset.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.

• Understanding of compliance, safety standards, and warehouse best practices.
