Job Description
Mandatory Qualification- Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety/ ADIS
Safety Monitoring & Inspections
- Conduct daily safety rounds and inspections of equipment, racks, fire extinguishers, PPE, and workplace hazards.
- Ensure firefighting and detection systems are tested and functional as per statutory requirements.
Training & Awareness
- Deliver safety induction for new employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize toolbox talks, awareness campaigns, and mock drills (fire, evacuation, spill response).
- Maintain readiness of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and evacuation plans.
Emergency Preparedness & Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and prepare corrective/preventive action reports.
- Coordinate emergency response and liaise with local authorities when required.
- Support emergency planning and ensure compliance with statutory forms and certifications.
PPE & Compliance
- Ensure availability, usage, and procurement of PPE.
- Verify contractor and employee compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct periodic testing of SCBA, fire extinguishers, alarms, and safety systems.
Warehouse & Logistics Safety
- Monitor safe stacking, racking, and storage practices.
- Ensure safe movement of forklifts, pallet trucks, and other MHEs.
- Conduct safety checks at loading/unloading docks and battery charging stations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily/monthly safety checklists, accident registers, inspection reports, and compliance records.
- Prepare statutory compliance reports, JSA, HIRA, and support internal/external audits.
- Submit weekly/monthly safety reports and ensure compliance with ISO standards (QMS, EMS, OHSMS).
Environmental & Regulatory Compliance
- Monitor effluent treatment plant operations and hazardous waste disposal as per MPCB/SPCB norms.
- Ensure compliance with environmental statements, hazardous waste submissions, and PESO licensing.
- Conduct periodic medical check-ups and maintain records as per statutory requirements.
General Responsibilities
- Prepare MIS reports, departmental presentations, and participate in safety/environment awareness programs.
