Job Description
Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (Food Products)Job Summary:The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for driving sales growth, managing distribution networks, and leading the sales team within the assigned region. The role focuses on achieving revenue targets, expanding market presence, and strengthening relationships with distributors and key accounts for the company’s food product portfolio.
- Key Responsibilities:1. Sales Strategy & Target AchievementDevelop and execute regional sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Analyze market trends, demand patterns, and competitor activities.
- Ensure consistent sales growth across all channels (General Trade, Modern Trade, HoReCa, etc.).
- 2. Distribution & Channel ManagementAppoint and manage distributors, super stockists, and retailers.
- Expand distribution reach and ensure product availability in all key outlets.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure smooth supply chain coordination.
- Improve secondary sales and retail penetration.
- 3. Team Leadership & ManagementLead, train, and mentor Area Sales Managers (ASM), Sales Officers, and Sales Executives.
- Set targets and KPIs for the team and review performance regularly.
- Conduct field visits to guide and support the sales team.
- 4. Market DevelopmentIdentify new business opportunities and untapped markets.
- Launch new products and ensure proper placement and visibility.
- Strengthen relationships with key retailers, distributors, and institutional clients.
- 5. Promotion & BrandingPlan and execute promotional activities, schemes, and trade offers.
- Ensure proper implementation of branding materials (POS, displays, etc.).
- Coordinate with the marketing team for regional campaigns.
- 6. Financial & Reporting ResponsibilitiesMonitor sales budgets, expenses, and profitability of the region.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis.
- Ensure timely collections and control outstanding payments.
- Key Skills Required:Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and communication abilities
- Deep understanding of FMCG/food distribution networks
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle pressure and meet targets
- Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
- MBA in Sales/Marketing (preferred)
- Experience:5–10 years of experience in FMCG/food industry sales
- Minimum 2–3 years in a managerial or regional role
- Experience handling distributors and large sales teams
