Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and highly responsible Head Chef with a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on culinary experience in multi-cuisine restaurants. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, deep kitchen operations knowledge, and a sharp focus on taste consistency, food quality, kitchen discipline, wastage control, and overall profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complete kitchen operations efficiently
- Ensure taste consistency and food quality across all dishes
- Expertise in multi-cuisine preparation (Indian, Chinese, Continental, Tandoor, etc.)
- Handle and supervise chefs, kitchen staff, helpers, and support teams
- Maintain kitchen discipline, punctuality, attendance, and staff grooming standards
- Plan daily kitchen production based on reservations and expected footfall
- Implement and enforce kitchen SOPs for recipes, portion control, plating, and storage
- Ensure hygiene, cleanliness, food safety, and compliance with FSSAI standards
- Control food cost, kitchen wastage, and portion management to improve profitability
- Inventory planning, stock verification, and daily raw material management
- Vendor coordination along with quality checks and market price comparison
- Menu planning, recipe standardization, seasonal menu updates, and new dish innovation
- Handle banquet orders, birthday parties, corporate bookings, buffet planning, and bulk orders
- Manage customer food complaints and take corrective action
- Train junior chefs and kitchen staff regularly for performance improvement
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership and team handling skills
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen operations and food production
- Strong focus on taste consistency and food presentation
- Expertise in food cost control and wastage reduction
- Inventory and stock management knowledge
- Menu engineering and profitability-focused thinking
- Knowledge of FSSAI compliance and food safety standards
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as Chef / Senior Chef / Head Chef
- Experience in reputed multi-cuisine restaurants, fine dining, or rooftop restaurants
- Proven experience in handling large kitchen teams
- Passion for food innovation and maintaining high hospitality standards
