Job Description Summary

Covers all resources and logistics needed to perform service and maintenance activities at the customer’s site or property. These activities support, maintain, repair, or refurbish sold or existing products and include all types of maintenance services—both preventive and corrective—as well as the management of maintenance facilities and field service engineering. The role impacts the quality of both individual work and the work delivered by the team. It involves carrying out standard operational or technical tasks that follow established instructions and routines, with the flexibility to adjust the order of tasks based on changing work conditions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • This role is intended for degreed engineers responsible for on‑site life‑extension work, repairs, and inspection‑related service activities for installed fleets, as well as supervising construction and commissioning of both new and existing equipment at customer locations. Responsibilities may include onsite machining, NDT, blading, winding, critical welding, and generator diagnostics. The role requires the ability to make sound engineering decisions.

  • Engineers at this level are expanding their technical expertise to support the execution of policies and strategies. The role may include specialized support functions while the individual continues to build advanced knowledge and skills.

  • They possess a basic understanding of key business drivers and use this insight to perform their work effectively. They have a solid awareness of how their team’s work connects with other teams and contributes to broader operational goals.

  • There is some autonomy to make decisions within established frameworks. They resolve issues that require strong technical knowledge and sound judgment, following defined procedures, and consult senior team members for matters beyond standard guidelines.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required, and the role may involve leading junior team members. In customer‑facing positions, they build strong customer relationships and act as the primary interface between the customer and GEHC, effectively explaining technical information as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • This role requires basic experience in the Services & Field Services. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
