Job Description: Solar TechnicianPosition OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Solar Technician to join our growing renewable energy team. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of residential and commercial solar projects, with a primary focus on solar rooftop installations and ongoing system maintenance.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and possesses strong technical problem-solving skills. You will also be responsible for documenting daily progress and system health through End-of-Day (EOD) reports.

• Key ResponsibilitiesRooftop Installation: Lay out, assemble, and install solar modules, racking systems, structural mounts, and electrical components on various roof types (pitched, flat, tile, metal).
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on existing solar PV systems, inverters, batteries, and monitoring equipment.
• Electrical Wiring: Handle AC/DC wiring, connect PV panels to inverters, integrate systems with the main electrical grid, and ensure all work complies with local electrical codes.
• System Testing: Commission new installations, perform diagnostic testing (voltage, amperage, thermal imaging), and ensure systems are operating at peak efficiency.
• EOD Reporting: Complete and submit accurate End-of-Day (EOD) reports detailing tasks completed, materials used, system performance metrics, and any issues or delays encountered on-site.
• Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to OSHA standards, fall protection protocols, and company safety guidelines while working at heights and with high-voltage equipment.
• Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 1–3 years of experience in solar PV installation (specifically rooftop systems) and electrical maintenance.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of solar technology, electrical circuits (AC/DC), inverters, and racking systems.
• Certifications: NABCEP certification or a relevant electrical license/certification is highly preferred. Must have valid fall protection/OSHA training.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably at heights and in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind).
• Tools: Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters).
• Communication: Solid written communication skills for completing clear, concise daily EOD reports and interacting with clients professionally.
