Job Overview

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented Costing & Proposal Engineer with 2 to 3 years of engineering-domain experience. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our core technical capabilities and commercial execution. Your primary objective will be to evaluate complex RFQs (Requests for Quotes), calculate highly accurate costing structures, and deliver polished, competitive commercial proposals.

Because this role heavily involves interacting with global clients, suppliers, and internal cross-functional engineering teams, impeccable command over the English language and exceptional conversational skills are non-negotiable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Estimation: Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and RFQ packages to generate precise cost evaluations covering materials, manufacturing overheads, labor, and engineering hours.
• Proposal Development: Draft, format, and compile authoritative technical and commercial proposal documents that clearly demonstrate value while safeguarding company profitability.
• Vendor & Sourcing Coordination: Interface closely with procurement and external manufacturing vendors to source competitive raw material and outsourcing quotes.
• Client Engagement & Consultation: Lead pre-bid alignment meetings, clarify technical-commercial queries, and handle mid-tender revisions. You must confidently present and justify cost breakdowns to client representatives.
• Risk & Profitability Mapping: Analyze project risks (supply chain fluctuations, tight tolerances, lead times) during the bidding stage and design strategic pricing adjustments.
• Commercial Standardization: Update and build upon the company's internal costing databases, historical vendor price matrices, and proposal layouts to optimize turnaround time for prospective client inquiries.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
• Experience: 2–3 years of dedicated experience in engineering cost estimation, techno-commercial bidding, or proposal writing within the precision engineering or manufacturing sectors.
• Language Dominance: Native-level or complete professional proficiency in English. You must possess strong business-writing acumen to draft mistake-free, compelling executive summaries and formal commercial responses.
• Communication & Articulation: Excellent conversational skills. You should easily navigate technical jargon and effortlessly steer business discussions, whether presenting internally to management or on calls with clients.
• Software Aptitude: High proficiency in MS Excel (advanced data modeling, formulas) and MS Word. Prior exposure to design packages (like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA) to extract information from engineering files is highly desirable.
