Job Description

Job Title: Hotel Cashier

Job Summary

The Hotel Cashier is responsible for handling all financial transactions within the hotel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent guest service. This role involves processing payments, maintaining records, and supporting front desk operations while upholding the hotel’s standards.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and assist with billing and payment processes
  • Handle cash, credit/debit card, and digital transactions accurately
  • Issue receipts, refunds, and change to guests
  • Maintain and balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts
  • Coordinate with front office and accounts team for billing discrepancies
  • Post charges to guest accounts (room, food, services, etc.)
  • Ensure all transactions are recorded in the hotel management system
  • Follow hotel policies for cash handling and financial reporting
  • Assist with check-in/check-out procedures when required
  • Report any irregularities or discrepancies to management


  • Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (commerce background preferred)
  • Previous experience in cashiering, hospitality, or customer service is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and cash handling procedures
  • Familiarity with POS systems or hotel management software
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays
