Quality Inspector

Position SummaryThe QC Inspector is responsible for inspection and verification of precision machined components, BIW fixtures, jigs and fixture assemblies as per approved drawings, customer standards, and internal SOPs. The role ensures all components are inspected and comply with dimensional, material, and surface treatment requirements before dispatch.

• Key Responsibilities1. Dimensional InspectionPerform in-process and final inspection of machined components.
• Conduct CMM inspection using PolyWorks software.
• Inspect critical machining features: GD&T, profile, true position, perpendicularity, parallelism, etc.
• Verify threading, chamfers, and hole tolerances (critical area in FYE process).
• Maintain inspection records and reports.
• 2. Documentation & ReportsPrepare and verify:

• Part Inspection Report (PIR)
• CMM Report
• Hardness Test Report
• Stress Relief / Heat Treatment Reports
• Surface Treatment / Nitriding Reports
• Material Test Certificate (MTC)
• Ensure documentation checklist compliance before dispatch.
• Maintain traceability of materials and components.
• 3. Drawing & Technical UnderstandingInterpret 2D drawings and 3D CAD models (STEP/IGS).
• Verify dimensions based on revision control.
• Identify mismatches between IGS, STEP, and PDF drawings.
• Ensure customer-specific requirements are followed (e.g., Comau, Hirotec, Thyssenkrupp Automotive, etc.).
• 4. Process ControlMonitor in-process inspection at VMC, HMC, Jig Boring, Grinding, and Wire Cut stages.
• Ensure control of measuring instruments and calibration status.
• Raise NCR (Non-Conformance Report) for deviations.
• Coordinate with Production & Design Team for corrective actions.
• 5. Quality ImprovementIdentify recurring issues (e.g., chamfer inspection gaps).
• Support implementation of SOPs and quality improvements.
• Assist in maintaining ISO 9001:2015 documentation compliance.
• Required QualificationsDiploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years experience in precision machining industry.
• Experience in fixture manufacturing preferred.
• Technical SkillsHands-on experience in:

• CMM operation (PolyWorks preferred)
• Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge
• Thread Plug / Ring Gauges
• Good knowledge of GD&T.
• Understanding of machining processes (Milling, Boring, Grinding).
• Basic knowledge of Excel & quality documentation.
