Job Description
Job SummaryThe Cardiology Physician is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with heart and cardiovascular conditions. The physician will provide OPD consultation, inpatient care, emergency cardiac management, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
- Key ResponsibilitiesPatient CareExamine and evaluate patients with cardiac-related symptoms
- Diagnose heart and blood vessel diseases
- Provide treatment plans and medication management
- Monitor patient progress and recovery
- Clinical DutiesConduct OPD consultations and inpatient rounds
- Handle emergency cardiac cases
- Interpret ECG, Echo, TMT, and other cardiac investigations
- Manage hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmia, and cardiac disorders
- Procedures & CoordinationCoordinate with ICU, OT, Cath Lab, and nursing teams
- Refer patients for advanced cardiac procedures when required
- Guide junior doctors and nursing staff in cardiac care
- DocumentationMaintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation
- Prepare discharge summaries and treatment notes
- Follow NABH protocols and hospital policies
- Patient EducationCounsel patients regarding:
- Lifestyle modification
- Diet management
- Exercise
- Medication adherence
- Preventive cardiac care
- Administrative ResponsibilitiesParticipate in medical meetings and audits
- Support quality improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with medical ethics and safety standards
- Eligibility CriteriaEducational QualificationMBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine
- DM/DNB in Cardiology (Preferred for Specialist Cardiologist)
- Valid Medical Council Registration
- ExperienceMinimum 1–5 years experience preferred
- Experience in hospital-based cardiology practice preferred
- Required SkillsStrong clinical and diagnostic skills
- Emergency cardiac management
- Good communication and patient handling
- Team coordination ability
- Knowledge of NABH standards and documentation
