Job Description
Job SummaryThe Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the supermarket floor, ensuring excellent customer service, proper merchandise display, staff supervision, stock availability, cleanliness, and smooth store functioning. The role involves coordinating with various departments to achieve sales targets and maintain operational standards.
- Key ResponsibilitiesStore OperationsSupervise daily activities on the sales floor.
- Ensure shelves are fully stocked and products are displayed according to company standards.
- Monitor product availability and coordinate replenishment.
- Ensure store cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards are maintained.
- Conduct regular floor walks to identify operational issues.
- Team ManagementSupervise and guide floor staff, cashiers, helpers, and merchandisers.
- Allocate daily duties and monitor performance.
- Train new employees on store procedures and customer service standards.
- Maintain staff discipline and attendance.
- Customer ServiceEnsure customers receive prompt and courteous service.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.
- Assist customers in locating products and addressing queries.
- Promote a positive shopping experience.
- Inventory ManagementMonitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Coordinate stock receiving and shelf replenishment.
- Conduct periodic stock checks and audits.
- Minimize stock losses, damages, and pilferage.
- Sales & MerchandisingEnsure attractive product displays and promotional setups.
- Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products.
- Support achievement of store sales targets.
- Encourage upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards.
- Report maintenance, safety, or security concerns immediately.
- Assist during internal and external audits.
- Desired Candidate ProfileEducationGraduate or Diploma in any discipline.
- Experience2 to 5 years of experience in retail, supermarket, hypermarket, or FMCG operations.
- Experience in team supervision preferred.
- Skills RequiredLeadership and team management.
- Customer service orientation.
- Inventory and stock management.
- Good communication skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Office, POS systems).
- Ability to work in shifts and on weekends.
