Job Description
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) for Gold Jewellery Senior Cashier Staff
1. Cash Handling and Transaction Management
- Accurate Transactions: Ensure all sales transactions are processed accurately, including cash, credit, debit, and other payment methods.
- Daily Reconciliation: Perform daily cash reconciliations, balancing cash registers at the beginning and end of shifts.
- Error Resolution: Quickly identify and resolve any discrepancies in cash handling and sales transactions.
2. Customer Service Excellence
- Customer Interaction: Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to all customers.
- Issue Resolution: Handle customer inquiries, returns, and complaints professionally and efficiently.
3. Financial Compliance and Reporting
- Compliance: Adhere to all financial policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, security, and reporting.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough records of all transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
4. Security and Loss Prevention
- Asset Protection: Implement and follow procedures to prevent theft, fraud, and loss.
- Security Measures: Ensure that all cash handling areas are secure and that security procedures are followed at all times.
- Incident Reporting: Report any suspicious activities or security breaches immediately to management.
5. Team Collaboration and Training
- Team Support: Collaborate effectively with sales staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Mentoring: Train and mentor junior cashiers, sharing best practices and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with colleagues and management to facilitate efficient workflow and address any issues promptly.
6. Customer Relationship Management
- Customer Engagement: Engage with customers to build relationships and encourage repeat business.
- Feedback Collection: Gather customer feedback regarding their checkout experience and provide insights to management for service improvement.
- VIP Handling: Provide personalized service to VIP customers, ensuring their checkout experience is seamless and pleasant.
7. Operational Efficiency
- Queue Management: Efficiently manage customer queues during peak hours to minimize wait times.
- POS System Management: Ensure the Point of Sale (POS) system is operating correctly and troubleshoot any technical issues promptly.
- Process Improvement: Identify and suggest improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cashier operations.
8. Inventory Control
- Stock Monitoring: Assist in monitoring stock levels and alert management to low stock or discrepancies.
- Product Verification: Verify that the products being sold match the descriptions and prices in the system.
- Return Handling: Accurately process returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with company policies.
9. Health and Safety Compliance
- Safety Standards: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cash register and surrounding areas.
- Emergency Procedures: Be knowledgeable about and ready to execute emergency procedures, such as fire drills and evacuations.
10. Technology Utilization
- POS Systems: Proficiently operate the POS system and other related technologies.
- Tech Updates: Stay updated on new technologies and software that can enhance cashier efficiency and customer service.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly resolve any technical issues with the POS system or escalate to IT support when necessary.
