Job Description

A Costing Engineer (or Estimation/Proposal Engineer) for Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP) specializes in calculating the capital expenditure and operating expenditurefor water treatment projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation & BOQ: Develop detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates for civil, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Proposal Preparation: Create techno-commercial proposals, including design calculations, process flow, and vendor quotes.
  • Vendor Negotiations: Coordinate with suppliers to gather competitive quotes for equipment like pumps, blowers, and valves, as discussed in.
  • Feasibility & Risk Analysis: Evaluate project profitability and risk, conducting sensitivity analyses to optimize costs.
  • Site Evaluation: Perform site visits to assess installation requirements for piping and mechanical systems.
  • Compliance Verification: Ensure all proposals and project designs comply with environmental standards.
