Core Responsibilities

A PLC programmer’s day-to-day involves more than just sitting at a screen; it’s a mix of design, physical installation, and high-stakes troubleshooting.

1. System Design & Architecture: Developing control logic and electrical schematics to ensure machines perform specific tasks (like an assembly robot or a sorting conveyor & special purpose machine).
2. Coding & Simulation: Writing programs using international standards (IEC 61131-3). In 2026, this often involves simulating the process in a "Digital Twin" environment before touching the actual hardware.
3. HMI/SCADA Integration: Designing the touchscreens (Human-Machine Interfaces) that operators use to monitor the system.
4. On-site Commissioning: Traveling to plants to upload code, wire sensors, and test the machine under real-world conditions.
5. Predictive Maintenance: Using IoT (Internet of Things) protocols to help machines "predict" when they might fail, minimizing downtime.
6. Safety Standard: -Check all industrial safety standards while programming
7. Control Panel wiring: - Inspection of wiring of design control panel & primary checking of all Voltages
8. Servo System-Siemens / Allen Bradley integration with PLC & HMI
9. CNC Controller-Siemens/Fanuc/Mitsubishi
