Plumber

Job Title: Plumber – Metro Station & Depot Maintenance.

Job Summary - The Plumber is responsible for maintaining water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems at metro stations and depot facilities. The role includes inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of pipelines, valves, pumps, sanitary fittings, and drainage systems to ensure proper functioning and hygiene.

• Key Responsibilities1. Water Supply System MaintenanceMaintain and repair water pipelines, valves, taps, and fittings.
• Check proper functioning of overhead tanks, underground tanks, and water supply lines.
• Attend breakdown complaints related to water leakage or low pressure.
• 2. Sanitary System MaintenanceMaintain toilets, wash basins, urinals, and sanitary fixtures at stations and depot buildings.
• Repair or replace damaged sanitary fittings and pipes.
• Ensure proper functioning of flush systems and drainage outlets.
• 3. Drainage System MaintenanceClean and maintain sewage lines, drainage pipelines, and floor traps.
• Ensure stormwater drains and sewage systems are not blocked.
• Remove blockages and carry out minor repair work.
• 4. Pump & Water Tank MaintenanceAssist in maintenance of water pumps and booster pumps.
• Check water tank levels, float valves, and pipeline connections.
• Ensure proper water supply across station and depot areas.
• 5. Preventive MaintenanceConduct routine inspection of pipelines and fittings to detect leaks.
• Perform preventive maintenance to avoid water leakage and drainage blockages.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in plumbing areas.
• 6. Safety & CoordinationFollow safety procedures while working in station and depot areas.
• Coordinate with civil and MEP maintenance teams for repair activities.
• Required SkillsKnowledge of plumbing systems, pipelines, and sanitary fittings.
• Ability to repair PVC, GI, and CPVC pipelines.
• Experience in drainage cleaning and leakage repair.
• Qualification - ITI / Skilled Plumber certification or relevant experience.
• 2–5 years experience in building, metro station, railway station, or facility maintenance.
