Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1.    Core Accounting & Bookkeeping

·        Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts in line with accounting standards and internal controls

·        Record and validate daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments

·        Perform periodic bank reconciliations, ledger scrutiny, and account balance confirmations

·        Ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial data across systems

2.  Financial Reporting & MIS

·        Support preparation of monthly MIS reports, financial summaries, and performance dashboards

·        Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timelines and accuracy

·        Provide data support for internal reviews and management reporting

3.  Taxation & Statutory Compliance

·        Assist in preparation and filing of GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliances (based on experience level)

·        Maintain compliance documentation and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements

·        Coordinate with senior team members during audits, assessments, and statutory filings

4.  Systems & Process Management

·        Work extensively on Tally / ERP systems and MS Excel for accounting and reporting

·        Ensure proper documentation, filing, and audit-ready records

·        Follow standardized accounting procedures and contribute to process improvements

Role-Specific Responsibilities (Junior Level | 0-1 Years)

  • Execute day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities with high accuracy
  • Prepare vouchers, invoices, bills, and expense statements
  • Maintain systematic documentation of financial records and supporting documents
  • Assist in basic compliance activities related to GST and TDS
  • Support senior accountants in audits and financial reporting requirements
  • Build foundational knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and compliance frameworks

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices
  • Hands-on experience with Tally / ERP systems
  • Proficiency in MS Excel (data handling, basic formulas, reporting)
  • Working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Income Tax (as per experience level)
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Analytical thinking with a structured and process-driven approach

 

 

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com / M.Com) or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications or additional finance qualifications will be an advantage

  • Prior experience in accounting firms, CA Firms, BFSI, or financial services environments
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Professional attitude with a commitment to quality and timelines
  • High learning agility with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills for internal coordination and reporting
