What does a successful Java Developer do at Fiserv?

The Java Developer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Java/Spring, microservices based applications within the platform in the existing Fiserv Application Architecture.

What you will do:

• Design, document and develop solutions for payment industry using modern architecture like SOA/Micro services
• Plan / build / configure / develop solutions within the specified timelines.
• Develop system test plans to ensure a comprehensive approach to delivering quality technology solutions to the business.
• Address all reported defects within a timely fashion.
• Initiate and coordinate production handover. Ensure success of setting new versions into production. Provide on-call duty for supporting the production handover.
• Stay active in business technology trends, direction and innovation related to business process and technology areas of focus for the position.
• Support developers in activities like code review, best practices for coding

What you will need to have:

• Degree in computer science or equivalent
• Design services / applications and develop distributed, highly scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant systems in Java technology area.
• In general, 5 years of experience in IT and at least 2 years of experience with complex J2EE application architecture
• Very good knowledge preferably in several following technologies:
  • Java/ J2EE, Spring framework, Jpa/Hibernate
  • RabbitMQ/Kafka
  • Web-Services design and development
  • Design pattern, UML
  • Eclipse, Maven, Git/Gerrit, Jenkins
• Extensive experience of complete software lifecycle.
• Knowledge of API management framework but not mandatory
• Very good English
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong personal commitment to meet goals
• Very good team player and ability to work autonomously
• Ability to work under heavy load
