Automation Test Engineer | Enterprise QA, CI/CD, API & Frameworks & Industry Standards

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced QA Automation Specialist in a hybrid work environment with a minimum of 7+ years of expertise in automation testing. This role involves leading the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks, mentoring QA engineers, and ensuring quality standards are met across testing cycles. The ideal candidate will leverage their strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC, API testing, and automation tools to support high-quality releases and continuous improvement, contributing significantly to organizational agility and product excellence.

Software Requirements

Required Software Proficiency:

• Selenium WebDriver (latest stable version) — extensive experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation scripts for web UI testing

• TestNG, JUnit — proven experience with test frameworks supporting test automation and regression testing

• API testing tools: Postman, RestAssured — strong skills in API validation, functional, and load testing support

• Bug Tracking & Test Management: Jira, Azure DevOps — proficient in managing defects, test cases, and reporting workflows supporting Agile practices

• Scripting Languages: Java, Python, or equivalent — for automation support and scripting tasks (preferred)

Preferred Software Skills:

• CI/CD Tools: Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps — supporting integrated automation in continuous delivery pipelines

• Performance Testing: JMeter, LoadRunner — for load and stress testing of critical enterprise applications

• Test Data Management & Reporting Tools supporting detailed analytics and traceability

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable test automation frameworks supporting functional, regression, and API testing activities

• Drive the execution of automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects ensuring quality in releases

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and operations, to define and improve testing strategies

• Mentor junior QA engineers, promote best practices, and support test automation skills development

• Continuously enhance automation frameworks to improve reusability, efficiency, and test coverage

• Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines supporting rapid, reliable software delivery

• Support root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and defect resolution activities proactively

• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering test plans, scripts, frameworks, and test results supporting audit and compliance requirements

• Stay updated on industry standards, emerging testing tools, and best practices, sharing insights with the team

  • Java, Python, or equivalent — for scripting and automation support

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in automation testing or quality assurance supporting enterprise applications

• Proven leadership managing test automation activities across teams and projects

• Strong expertise in automation frameworks, API testing, and CI/CD integrations supporting Agile environments

• Experience working in regulated industries or complex software environments is preferred

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, analyze test failures, and implement process improvements

Day-to-Day Activities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automation scripts for web UI, API, and regression testing

• Conduct code reviews, performance testing, and defect analysis supporting high-quality releases

• Collaborate with product and development teams during sprint planning and release cycles

• Automate deployment and testing workflows supporting DevOps practices

• Troubleshoot automation failures, optimize test scripts, and support regression cycles

• Maintain detailed documentation on test cases, workflows, and automation frameworks

• Support continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating new tools and frameworks for efficiency gains

• Participate in test review meetings, status reporting, and retrospectives supporting Agile workflows

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline

• 7+ years supporting enterprise automation testing, functional, and regression activities

• Certifications such as ISTQB, Selenium, or related automation certifications are a plus

• Proven experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and Agile development processes
