Job SummaryThe Billing & Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing and verifying contractor bills, monitoring project costs, preparing quantity estimates, coordinating with site teams, maintaining project data in ERP/software, and ensuring projects are executed within approved budgets. The role requires strong knowledge of building estimation, billing procedures, vendor management, and cost control.

• Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Contract ManagementVerify and process contractor and subcontractor running and final bills.
• Cross-check quantities executed with approved drawings and site measurements.
• Coordinate with site engineers for reconciliation of work completed.
• Ensure all bills comply with contract terms, work orders, and BOQs.
• Prepare and maintain billing records and supporting documentation.
• Estimation & Quantity SurveyingPrepare detailed estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial building projects.
• Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and cost estimates.
• Good knowledge of BBM (Brickwork Building Measurement/Bill of Building Materials, as applicable within the organisation) and complete building estimation.
• Analyse material, labour, and equipment requirements for projects.
• Site CoordinationCoordinate with site engineers and project teams regarding work progress and reconciliation of executed quantities.
• Monitor daily and weekly project progress against planned schedules.
• Resolve billing and quantity discrepancies with site teams and contractors.
• Support project planning by providing accurate quantity and cost information.
• Cost Monitoring & ControlMonitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
• Compare actual project costs with estimated costs and identify variances.
• Prepare cost reports and MIS for management.
• Recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• ERP / Software ManagementEnsure timely and accurate project data entry into ERP/project management software.
• Update work progress, billing records, material consumption, and cost data.
• Generate project and billing reports from the software.
• Vendor ManagementObtain quotations from vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate vendor performance and support procurement activities.
• Assist in finalising purchase recommendations based on technical and commercial evaluations.
• Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 3–8 years of experience in billing, estimation, and quantity surveying for building construction projects.
• Required SkillsStrong knowledge of contractor billing and quantity verification.
• Expertise in BOQ preparation and complete building estimation.
• Knowledge of BBM and RCC quantity estimation.
• Experience in cost monitoring and budget control.
• Ability to analyse expenditure versus actual project costs.
• Vendor negotiation and commercial evaluation skills.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and ERP/project management software (such as ERP, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
