Commodity Head-FBV Buses, Capacity Planning & SQD
- Lead end-to-end commodity ownership for commercial vehicles (Fully Built Vehicles, Tippers, Cargo), driving product development, manufacturing excellence, quality improvement, and capacity planning, while ensuring cost, performance, and delivery targets are met. This includes responsibility of Bus body development, Planning and procurement of all Bill to Ship to Parts of Bus Body and ensuring the buses availability for month-on-month billing requirements.
- Domain Expertise
- Strong experience in Commercial Vehicles (CV) – FBV, Tippers, Cargo applications
- Deep understanding of vehicle aggregates, chassis, body-building, and integration challenges
- Experience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers in CV segment
- Product Development
- Hands-on experience in end-to-end vehicle/commodity development lifecycle
- Concept → Design → Prototyping → Testing → SOP (Start of Production)
- Ability to resolve design issues, field failures, and performance gaps
- Experience in DFMEA, DVP&R, validation & testing processes
- Manufacturing & Industrialization
- Strong exposure to manufacturing processes for CVs
- Ability to handle production challenges, line balancing, throughput issues
- Experience in SOP readiness, ramp-up planning, and production stabilization
- Knowledge of plant operations, vendor coordination, and supply chain constraints
- Quality Management (Critical) - Quality Excellence & Continuous Improvement Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive quality improvement and process efficiency
- Experience in handling:
- Customer complaints / field failures
- Warranty reduction initiatives
- Supplier quality improvement
- Ownership of quality metrics (PPM, warranty, rejection rates, FTR)
- Demonstrated success in eliminating recurring defects and driving permanent corrective actions
- Strong focus on process capability improvement (Cp, Cpk) and standard work implementation
- Experience in Kaizen initiatives, continuous improvement programs, and shopfloor quality transformation
- Ownership of key quality metrics: PPM, Rejection rates, First Time Right (FTR), Warranty, COPQ
- Strong experience in Supplier Quality Improvement using APQP, PPAP
- Ensuring robust process controls across manufacturing and vendor ecosystem
- Driving zero-defect mindset across production lines
