Job Summary

If you are a Finance professional, Emerson has an exciting role for you! We are looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to work with our FP&A COE in Pune.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Responsible for all cost accounting activities and intercompany transfer prices activities for valves manufacturing and distribution operation.

  • ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, intercompany transfer price setting/updates and margin analysis for our Germany based legal entity with annualized sales ~$250M
  • Ownership of cost accounting processes, including standard cost setting and roll-forwards, work-in-progress (WIP), inventory valuation, consigned inventory, PPV / Variance analysis, etc Good command on departmental SGA, CGS Cost Centre Analysis & identify key drivers 

  • Maintain and enhance product costing models/methodologies in SAP (example: BOMs, routings, labor standards, overhead rates and allocations)
  • Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, scrap) and operational costs, identify trends, risks and support opportunities for cost optimization
  • Support costing for engineered-to-order and configure-to-order valves and systems
  • Month-end close activities including inventory and WIP reconciliations, journal entries, provisions and management reporting 
  • Ensure compliance with policies and internal controls related to inventory, equipment capitalization, obsolescence, warranty, etc.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed cost analysis
  • Act as subject matter expert for SAP cost accounting modules and support system enhancements/implementation
  • SAP expertise with experience in manufacturing environment in required

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Cost Accounting Professional with minimum 10 years of work experience in manufacturing setup

  • Strong hands-on experience with SAP (Financial Accounting and Controlling module - FICO) 

  • Proven experience working across multiple legal entities and intercompany structures

  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory accounting and cost controls 

  • Experience with transfer pricing processes

  • Advanced Excel skills, experience in managing large dataset/reports and BI tools

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills

  • Ability to travel to factory in Germany

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, CMA

  • Experience in global or multi-national organizations

  • Experience with SAP implementations, upgrades or system integrations

  • Cross-functional collaboration

  • Ability to translate manufacturing and distribution data into financial insights 

  • High attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity

  • Strong business partnership and communication skills

  • Highly driven and motivated
