Role Description

The IT Regulatory, Risk and Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all DWS APAC-managed applications comply with the firm’s internal IT risk and control standards. The role provides guidance to APAC IT Application Owners (ITAOs) on risk assessments, control implementation and remediation activities. The specialist also coordinates regional compliance with local IT-related regulations. In addition to the focus on DWS APAC managed applications, the role covers risk and control adherence and reporting for the global Liquid application portfolio.

Your key responsibilities

• Oversee adherence to internal risk and control standards for DWS APAC-managed applications as well as the global Liquid application portfolio
• Guide IT Application Owners (ITAOs) on required controls, risk assessments, and remediation actions.
• Coordinate audit activities and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Manage APAC regional compliance with local IT-related regulations and requirements.
• Support responses to regulatory inquiries, inspections, and documentation requests.
• Ensure APAC practices follow global IT policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Identify and implement enhancements to strengthen risk and control processes.
• Work with DB IT team, DWS APAC COOs, CISO, Compliance, and Audit teams across APAC.

Your skills and experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
• More than five years of experience in IT risk, technology governance, compliance, or control functions within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IT control frameworks. e.g. ITGC, SDLC, access management, change management
• Familiarity with IT-related regulatory requirements.
• Experience supporting internal/external audits, responding to findings, and driving remediation efforts.
• Ability to perform risk assessments and advise IT Application Owners (ITAOs) on required controls.
• Proactive problem-solving
• Strong ownership and accountability for issues from start to finish.
• Detail-oriented mindset with awareness of risk, accuracy, and data integrity.
• Collaborative work style with cross-functional teams across different teams at different locations.
• Clear communication with both technical teams and business users.

Preferred

• Chinese language skills (speaking and reading) preferred.
