Data Engineer (Business Analyst - Jira, Confluence, Power BI, SQL)

Job Description

MRI-Simmons is seeking Senior Business Analyst with analyzing complex business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategic recommendations by leveraging data insights to drive organizational goals. The ideal candidate works closely with product managers and stakeholders across various departments to understand business needs, design solutions, and ensure successful implementation of new systems or processes, typically managing more complex projects and providing guidance to developers and other analysts.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Business Needs Assessment: Conduct in-depth analysis of business operations, identifying pain points, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement across different departments. 
• Requirements Gathering: Elicit, document, and prioritize detailed business requirements from stakeholders, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis tools to extract meaningful insights from large datasets, identifying trends and patterns to inform decision-making.
• Solution Design: Develop comprehensive solutions, including process improvements, system enhancements, or new applications, considering cost-benefit analysis and feasibility.
• Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, effective communication of analysis findings, recommendations, and project updates.
• Project Management: Lead and oversee business analysis activities on complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project scope.
• Change Management: Facilitate the transition to new processes or systems, providing training and support to end-users.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills: Ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions
• Business acumen: Deep understanding of business operations, financial principles, and industry trends 
• Technical proficiency: Familiarity with data analysis tools, reporting software, and relevant business applications
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences
• Project management skills: Experience in managing project timelines, deliverables, and resources
• Problem-solving skills: Identifying root causes and proposing effective solutions to business challenges

Required Experience in the following tools & practices:

• Jira
• Confluence
• Power BI
• SQL (desirable)
• Agile/Kanban
