Hardware & Networking Field Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Hardware & Networking Field Engineer to provide technical support for desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and network devices. The engineer should first attempt to resolve customer issues remotely. If the issue cannot be resolved remotely, the engineer will visit the client site to diagnose and fix the problem. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, hardware installation and replacement experience, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to clients via phone, email, or remote access tools.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.
• Escalate to an on-site visit when remote troubleshooting is not sufficient.
• Visit customer locations to resolve technical issues within the agreed SLA.
• Install, upgrade, replace, and configure desktop, laptop, server, printer, and peripheral hardware.
• Open laptops and desktops to replace or install components such as RAM, SSD/HDD, motherboard, SMPS, cooling fans, keyboards, batteries, displays, Wi-Fi cards, and other internal hardware.
• Assemble and configure new desktop computers.
• Install and configure operating systems, device drivers, and business applications.
• Configure and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, firewalls, and network printers.
• Perform network cable testing, RJ-45 crimping, patching, and basic structured cabling.
• Configure IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network sharing.
• Perform preventive maintenance and health checks on IT infrastructure.
• Maintain service reports, visit reports, and asset records after each support activity.
• Coordinate with OEM vendors for warranty support and hardware replacement.
• Follow company SOPs, safety guidelines, and customer security policies.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware.
• Experience in hardware replacement and system assembly.
• Good understanding of Windows operating systems and basic Linux administration.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
• Experience with remote support tools such as AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or Remote Desktop.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365, Outlook configuration, and printer installation.
• Ability to diagnose hardware failures and network connectivity issues.
• Good communication and customer handling skills.

Qualification

• Any- 10th , 12th or Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
• Hardware and Networking certifications (CompTIA A+, N+, CCNA, Microsoft, Red Hat, or equivalent) will be an added advantage.

Experience

• 1–5 years of experience in Hardware & Networking Support or Field Engineering.

Other Requirements

• Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
• Valid two-wheeler driving license is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Ready to work in rotational shifts or on-call support, if required.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
