The Position

IT Quality Specialist

The Test Execution and Automation (TEA) team provide the platforms required by Roche engineering teams for automating and executing testing. This role is responsible for validating, qualifying, and continuously monitoring the compliance of test automation tools and frameworks offered by Roche TEA. We ensure that the test automation solutions provided to internal teams—including assessments, Proofs of Concept (POCs), and full implementations—are compliant, recommended within the enterprise, and ready to use for global engineering success.

As an IT Quality Specialist, you will independently handle quality tasks and contribute to the full quality lifecycle within our RDT Engineering Excellence & Experience business unit. You will provide critical input to solution design by defining quality requirements, identifying solution-level gaps, and collaborating with global stakeholders to ensure our automation tools meet stringent quality objectives and continuous improvement goals.

The Opportunity

  • Lead Tool Validation: Orchestrate the initial validation and continuous qualification of core TEA platforms, including Tricentis Tosca, Neoload, Robot Framework, and Playwright.

  • Ensure GxP Compliance: Act as the lead for all compliance efforts, ensuring test automation solutions are qualified according to CSV standards for GxP-relevant scenarios.

  • Drive Solution Design: Provide expert input to solution designs by defining and managing quality requirements for small-to-medium scale problem areas.

  • Perform Infrastructure Audits: Conduct regular audits and risk assessments of the TEA ecosystem to maintain 100% compliance during frequent system upgrades.

  • Mitigate Technical Risks: Identify technical risks and evaluate deficiencies during the development of Test Automation POCs, partnering with teams on remediation.

  • Empower Internal Users: Act as a subject matter expert, facilitating internal training on tool capabilities and fitting solutions to complex project roadmaps.

  • Optimize Quality Processes: Proactively identify solution-level inefficiencies and contribute innovative ideas to improve products while maintaining a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Manage Stakeholder Interests: Establish rapport and build strong working relationships across product squads to validate requirements and manage technical expectations.

Who you are

  • Experienced Quality Specialist: You bring at least 3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer within relevant IT environments, handling the full quality/analysis lifecycle.

  • Compliance Expert: You possess a proven track record of working in GxP-relevant environments with a deep understanding of Computer System Validation (CSV) standards.

  • Automation Tool Savvy: You have practical experience with Test Automation Tools such as Tricentis Tosca, Selenium, Playwright, or Robot Framework.

  • Educated Professional: You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Analytical Problem Solver: You are skilled at identifying root causes, defining problem scopes, and synthesizing complex stakeholder requirements into feasible designs.

  • Global Collaborator: You excel in complex, global environments and possess strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and facilitate across diverse teams.

  • Strategic Thinker: You have a working knowledge of business domains and the ability to apply analytical tools and techniques to data, usability, and process analysis.
