Job Description
An ITI Operator in a water/wastewater treatment plant is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, and pipelines. They ensure operational efficiency, manage equipment lubrication, and assist with plant modifications while adhering to safety standards, often working with Wastewater Treatment Plant Technicians.
Core Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Performing routine checks on wastewater lift/pump stations, greasing, lubricating, and inspecting equipment.
- Mechanical Repairs: Troubleshooting and repairing pumps, motors, hoists, and valves, including rebuilding pumps and replacing packing.
- Installation and Piping: Assembling and installing new mechanical components, machinery, and piping systems.
- Process Monitoring: Checking machinery for proper operation and adjusting chemical feeders based on required treatment standards.
