• 1. Food Preparation & SupportPrep Work: Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables and fruits.
• Basic Cooking: Assist chefs with simple tasks like boiling pasta, preparing sauces, or breading proteins.
• Portioning: Measure and weigh ingredients according to recipe specifications to maintain consistency and reduce waste.
• Assembly: Help plate appetizers or garnishes during peak "rush" periods.
• 2. Cleaning & SanitationDish Management: Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Station Upkeep: Maintain clean work surfaces, including cutting boards, counters, and stovetops.
• Waste Removal: Regularly empty trash cans, compost, and recycling bins; ensure the loading dock area remains tidy.
• Floor Care: Sweep and mop kitchen floors frequently to prevent slips and maintain hygiene.
• 3. Inventory & OrganizationStocking: Receive deliveries and verify that quantities match the invoices.
• Storage: Properly store dry goods and perishables using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method.
• Organization: Keep the pantry, walk-in cooler, and freezer organized and labeled.
• 4. Safety & ComplianceFood Safety: Adhere to all local health department regulations regarding food handling and storage.
• Chemical Safety: Use cleaning chemicals safely and store them away from food prep areas.
• Equipment Care: Report any malfunctioning kitchen machinery to the Sous Chef or Manager immediately.
