Job Summary
Synechron seeks a seasoned Functional QA to lead and manage a team focusing on emerging and innovative technologies within fast-paced environments. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely and quality delivery of technology projects, especially in pricing and complex financial products. The Functional QA Senior Manager will drive testing excellence, oversee end-to-end independent test execution, proactively monitor code promotion into UAT, and mentor team members to achieve high performance, thereby supporting Synechron’s business objectives.
Software Requirements
Required:
Test management tools proficiency (e.g., JIRA, Quality Center) with strong experience in test execution and tracking
Experience with release management tools and workflows in fast-paced release cycles
Familiarity with UAT environments, continuous integration environments, and code promotion pipelines
Preferred:
Automation testing experience (non-mandatory)
Experience with financial domain tools related to pricing or complex financial product testing
Overall Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of technology professionals working on emerging and innovative technologies
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards
Maintain proactive oversight of independent test execution and code promotion into UAT
Mentor and coach team members for skill development and performance improvement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and operations to ensure project success
Monitor and communicate project status and testing outcomes to stakeholders
Stay informed of industry trends to incorporate leading practices into QA processes
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Preferred: Basic scripting knowledge for test automation beneficial but not essential
Databases/Data Management:
Essential: Experience with data validation/testing in complex financial systems (SQL proficiency preferred)
Cloud Technologies:
Preferred: Familiarity with cloud testing environments advantageous but not mandatory
Frameworks and Libraries:
Not mandatory but helpful: Testing frameworks and tools specific to the financial domain
Development Tools and Methodologies:
Essential: Test management tools (JIRA, Quality Center)
Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or similar iterative development methodologies
Security Protocols:
Awareness of regulatory and security standards for financial product testing desirable
Experience Requirements
Minimum 7 years of experience in technology management with strong QA leadership
Proven track record managing technology teams in fast-paced, complex project environments
Prior experience supporting pricing or complex financial products testing and release management
Experienced in independent test execution and tracking code promotion into UAT
Comfortable owning test scripts and ensuring quality standards with minimal oversight
Alternative backgrounds with demonstrated leadership in technology project delivery and testing considered
Day-to-Day Activities
Leading daily team activities and coordinating test execution efforts
Monitoring test progress and code promotion activities in coordination with development teams
Engaging in sprint planning, retrospectives, and cross-functional collaboration meetings
Providing mentorship and performance feedback to team members
Preparing and presenting project status and quality assurance reports to stakeholders
Identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies related to quality and delivery
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
Project management or QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB, PMP) are a plus
Ongoing commitment to professional development in technology leadership and emerging QA practices
