What You'll Do:

• Lead the development of AI-powered products and platforms (Navi, Agent Studio, AI Platform services)
• Act as a hands-on technical leader, guiding architecture, design, and key engineering decisions
• Drive the transition from AI experimentation to production-grade, reliable systems
• Partner with product to turn ambiguous AI use cases into scalable solutions
• Build and grow a high-performing, globally distributed team (US & India)
• Balance speed of innovation with long-term system quality and maintainability
• Establish strong engineering practices across design, testing, and delivery
• Define and track metrics for delivery, system performance, and quality
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers and future leaders

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

• 10+ years building distributed systems, with 5+ years in engineering leadership
• Strong experience on Agentic AI.
• Should have strong application engineering in enterprise SAAS.
• Strong technical depth with the ability to guide architecture and challenge decisions
• Experience building platforms or scalable backend systems (AI/LLM experience is a plus)
• Ability to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and bring structure
• Proven track record of hiring and developing strong engineering teams
• Strong communication skills and ability to connect engineering work to business impact
