Urgent Hiring: Procurement Manager – Travel OperationsLocation: Pune, Maharashtra

About the CompanyWe are a fast-growing IT company seeking an experienced and dynamic Procurement Manager – Travel Operations to strengthen our corporate travel procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building and managing a strong network of travel vendors across India while ensuring cost-effective, high-quality, and seamless travel solutions for our employees and business operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with extensive experience in travel procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiations, and strategic sourcing.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesVendor Sourcing & DevelopmentIdentify, evaluate, and onboard reliable travel vendors across India.
  • Build a strong network of airlines, hotels, transport providers, cab operators, travel management companies, and other travel partners.
  • Conduct market research to identify new vendors offering competitive pricing and superior service quality.
  • Develop long-term relationships with strategic travel partners.
  • Procurement & Commercial NegotiationsNegotiate competitive commercial terms, pricing, discounts, payment terms, and service-level agreements (SLAs).
  • Achieve cost optimization while maintaining high service standards.
  • Finalize annual rate contracts and preferred supplier agreements.
  • Monitor market trends and benchmark vendor pricing regularly.
  • Contract & Vendor ManagementPrepare, review, and manage vendor contracts.
  • Ensure all vendor agreements comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance through regular reviews and KPI tracking.
  • Resolve vendor-related issues and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Travel OperationsEnsure timely availability of travel services for domestic and international business travel.
  • Coordinate with airlines, hotels, transport providers, visa agencies, and travel partners.
  • Manage emergency travel requirements with minimum turnaround time.
  • Improve travel procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Cost Control & Budget ManagementMonitor procurement budgets and spending.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
  • Prepare procurement reports, vendor analysis, and MIS for senior management.
  • Track monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement performance.
  • Cross-Functional CoordinationWork closely with HR, Administration, Finance, and Business Teams to understand travel requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders for travel planning and vendor selection.
  • Ensure timely invoice verification and vendor payments in coordination with the finance department.
  • Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure vendors comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Maintain complete procurement documentation and vendor records.
  • Conduct periodic audits of vendor performance and service quality.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement best practices and ethical standards.
  • Required SkillsExcellent negotiation and commercial management skills.
  • Strong vendor sourcing and relationship management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of travel procurement and corporate travel operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and procurement reporting tools.
  • Experience working with ERP or procurement management systems will be an added advantage.
  • Eligibility CriteriaGraduate in any discipline (MBA or PGDM preferred).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Procurement, Vendor Management, or Strategic Sourcing.
  • Prior experience in the Travel, Hospitality, Corporate Travel, Aviation, or IT industry is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in managing large vendor networks and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Ability to travel when required for vendor meetings and business development.
  • Preferred Candidate ProfileStrong leadership and team management capabilities.
