Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1.     Concept preparations and evaluation based on weight, cost, attributes, vehicle variants/ platform modularity.
2.    Lead Packaging & integration of Vehicle systems. 
3.    Vehicle calculation knowledge like, Wheelbase calc, CG calc, Vehicle performance calc.
4.    Lead DMU packaging reviews, Concerns resolution, Preparation of DMU reports & Sign off.
5.    Support in Validation concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
6.    Support in Service concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
7.    Support in Plant concerns tracking and resolution along with CFT
8.    Vehicle packaging and DMU sign off considering existing homologation requirements and future upcoming regulations.
9.    Ensure EN / PR release, EBOM, Installation drg release through PLM and track and coordinate other aggregate releases
10.    Participate in vehicle benchmarking, Vehicle Target setting and Cascading the same to System level targets.
11.    Track, monitor and optimize aggregates to enhance performance
12.    To achieve standardization yet addressing diverse requirements
13.    Understand , analyse, and develop applications
14.    Ensure CAD Vehicle Layout to facilitate design engg for modification insertion / introduction of the new parts in the vehicle by collecting all the CAD models together and locating at vehicle location
15.    Clearance analysis check on the CAD vehicle layout to maintain proper clearance between the parts as stipulated as per M and M standards by using the software called as Vizmock up
16.    Monitor weight to ensure that the overall vehicle weight does not cross the target by using material properties for CAD model and finding out system wise weights also by physically weighing the EP parts.
17.    Ensure Serviceability and manufacturability of vehicle to avoid later changes in the program / vehicle by simulating the process of assembly /removal of various components to assembly line / service workshop in CAD
18.    Create Vehicle level BOM to ensure that the cost is within target and the materials team is aware of parts required for various models by attaching systems groups to top level vehicle group. The various system groups are prepared by various system engineering.

1.Hands on exp on TC and CATIA
2. EBOM knowledge
3. should have basic knowledge on vehicle systems
4. Good knowledge on MS Word, excel and power point
5. should be familiar with usage of AI tools for VI applications
6. good knowledge of Product design and development
7. Awareness of OEM process
8. Awareness about Product life cycle, like Design ,Proto validation, homologation, TCF issues resolution
9.Should have knowledge on vehicle dynamics and performance
10. Ability to high quality ,cost effective and optimised vehicle system while meeting performance , time and regulatory requirements 
11. Efficient integration of all vehicle systems (chassis, powertrain, electronics, etc.)
