Job Title: Senior Manager – Asset Servicing Data & Digital

Role Summary

The Senior Manager – Asset Servicing Data & Digital Technology is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the architecture, design, and delivery of enterprise data and digital platforms. This position combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight of large-scale programs to enable scalable, secure, and client-centric solutions.

The role requires deep expertise across full-stack engineering, modern data platforms, and cloud-native architectures, along with the ability to lead high-performing teams and deliver complex, high-value initiatives aligned to business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Lead architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise digital and data platforms.
  • Define and drive adoption of modern engineering patterns, including:
    • Event-driven architecture and Pub/Sub models
    • Domain-driven design (DDD)
    • Microservices and containerization
    • Cloud-native architecture (Azure preferred)
    • Data engineering pipeline
  • Ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient systems aligned with enterprise standards.

2. Application Development & Platform Ownership

  • Provide technical leadership across Portals, Datamart, and Datashare platforms, ensuring consistent architecture and integration.
  • Oversee full-stack development practices, including:
    • Frontend (React and modern UX frameworks)
    • Backend (Java, Spring, APIs, Python, Snowflake)
    • C++ is nice to have
  • Drive engineering excellence across the full SDLC, ensuring high-quality, maintainable codebases.

3. Strategic Program Leadership

  • Lead delivery of key business initiatives, including enterprise integration of Fenergo across Asset Servicing platforms.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technology solutions and roadmaps.
  • Manage execution across multiple projects, ensuring alignment to timelines, quality, and client expectations.

4. Data Engineering & Platform Enablement

  • Lead development of enterprise data platforms, including Data Hubs, Data Marts, and analytics solutions.
  • Design and implement data engineering solutions that leverage Snowflake and cloud-based technologies.
  • Oversee data modelling, governance, and data quality practices to support enterprise analytics and regulatory requirements.

5. People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and develop top talent, creating an environment that motivates, challenges, and retains employees.
  • Promote best practices in technology, collaboration, and agile delivery. 6. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with global business and technology teams to ensure alignment on strategy, architecture, and delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders to provide status, risks, and solution direction.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, governance standards, and regulatory requirements.

7. Delivery Excellence & Commercial Focus

  • Drive execution with a results-oriented and commercially aware mindset.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to address complex challenges and drive outcomes.
  • Ensure efficient prioritization, planning, and delivery across competing initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong experience in full-stack software engineering:
    • React / modern UX frameworks
    • Java, Spring Boot, APIs, Python, Snowflake, SQL
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Event-driven architecture and distributed systems
    • Domain-driven design (DDD)
    • Microservices architecture
    • Containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
    • Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
    • Python and Snowflake based applications
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Data modelling (relational, dimensional etc)
    • Data engineering and analytics platforms (Snowflake, Databricks)
    • Enterprise security and integration patterns

Leadership & Delivery

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex technology programs.
  • Experience managing multiple teams and concurrent projects in a global environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and delivery frameworks

Domain Knowledge

  • Experience in Asset Servicing, Asset Management, or Financial Services preferred.
  • Familiarity with Northern Trust systems, platforms, and design patterns is desirable.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Typically 15+ years of overall experience, including leadership of mid-to-large engineering teams

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI/ML or advanced analytics
  • Knowledge of regulatory and data governance frameworks in financial services
  • Exposure to modern data management tools and ETL frameworks
