Sr. Structural Engineer

• Purpose of Position
  • The position calls for overall development of BV services for structure design/design review for the Industrial structures, Storage tank structures, industrial sheds, conveyor system structures, Pipe racks, light masts and respective Civil foundations.
  • Required an experienced Structural Design review Engineer with a minimum of 10 years expertise in designing/review of structures, particularly in the areas of Industrial super structures and sub structures.
• Major Responsibilities
  • Perform Design review and assessment of conveyor galleries, chimneys, industrial buildings & industrial sheds, including retrofit/strengthening and remaining life evaluation of existing structures.
  • Preparation of BOQ/BOM, connection and detailed fabrication drawings, structural health assessment, and life‑extension strategies in line with relevant codes and client standards.
  • Develop detailed methodology for review of structural designs calculation with applicable codes & standards. Where not familiar, lead in the development of new methodologies to perform such review & assessments.
  • Perform design review of various industrial structures and civil foundation for optimum performance and safety.
  • Responsible for overseeing the independent Design / Design review of GA & detailing of all components, mentoring & training of less experienced colleagues.
  • Responsible for preparation of pricing proposal & estimate to Sales team and assist to control spend on site activities.
  • Should be capable to developing initial & detailed engineering drawings in STAAD and perform FEA where required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless engineering solutions on budget and in time.
  • Responsible for timely execution of work and issuance of deliverables to client in specified time frame.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of topography reports to assess the site conditions for structural design.
  • The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy.
  • Willing to travel as per the requirement to site to understand the job and able to deliver the presentations to client for clarifications or business.

  • Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects.

• Qualification & Technical Knowledge
  • B.E / B. Tech Civil or Industrial Engineering graduate from a reputed institute with minimum 10 year experience in the design or design review of various industrial structures Industrial structures, Storage tank structures, industrial sheds, conveyor system structures, Pipe racks, light masts and respective Civil foundations.
  • Having an Master’s degree in Structural Engineering is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in the use of software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, Staad Pro, SACS, Tekla.
  • Added advantage with skills software’s like in FEMAP / ANSYS / ABACUS.
  • In-depth knowledge in Concrete, steel, wood and composite materials.
  • Possess strong background in BIM modeling techniques and software interoperability.
  • Should possess knowledge on type of NDT’s to be used for concrete and steel structures.
  • Experience in performing design review of Cranes (EOT, ELL, Gantry) and Offshore structure is an added advantage.
