Job description:

 

Experience required: 3-4 years

We are seeking a detail-oriented Testing Associate Consultant to support testing activities across modern data platforms and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of System Integration Testing (SIT) processes, experience validating data pipelines and transformations, and proficiency in SQL-based testing across multiple layers of a Snowflake-based data ecosystem.
The candidate will be responsible for designing test scenarios, creating and executing test cases, validating business rules, documenting test evidence, and ensuring high-quality data delivery across the platform.

 

Key Responsibilities

• SIT Planning & Execution
• Understand business and functional requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Execute SIT test cases and validate end-to-end data flows across source, transformation, and reporting layers.
• Identify, log, track, and retest defects through resolution.
• Ensure adherence to testing standards, execution guidelines, and quality processes.
• Maintain test documentation, execution reports, and testing evidence for audit and compliance purposes.
• Data Validation & Quality Assurance
• Perform data validation across different layers of the data platform, including ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
• Validate complex business rules, data mappings, transformations, aggregations, and calculations.
• Conduct source-to-target reconciliation and data quality checks.
• Analyze and troubleshoot data discrepancies in collaboration with development and data engineering teams.
  

 

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with business analysts, developers, data engineers, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Participate in requirement reviews and test planning discussions.
• Provide timely status updates on test execution progress, defects, risks, and blockers.
  

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Testing Fundamentals
• Strong understanding of System Integration Testing (SIT) lifecycle and best practices.
  

 

Experience in:

• Test scenario creation
• Test case design and execution
• Defect management and reporting
• Test evidence and documentation maintenance
• Requirement traceability and validation
  

 

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL.
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and testing.
• Experience validating data across multiple layers in Snowflake.
• Experience testing complex business rules and transformation logic.
• Data Engineering Tools
  

 

Working knowledge of:

• Snowflake
• dbt (Data Build Tool)
• Apache Airflow
  

 

Good to Have

• Exposure to Fivetran and ingestion pipeline testing.
• Knowledge of Python for test data validation, data analysis, or automation.
• Experience with test automation frameworks and automated data validation approaches.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and modern data engineering practices.
