Job Title: Senior Compute Engineer - VMware & Hyper V
Role:
VMware & Hyper V Subject Matter Expert responsible for the architecture, administration, modernization, migration, and operational stability of enterprise virtualization platforms.
The role spans VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper V, clustering, high availability, capacity management, automation, and disaster recovery, supporting large-scale on premises and hybrid infrastructure environments.
This position requires deep hands-on technical expertise, strong ownership of platform reliability, and leadership in migration, consolidation, and virtualization modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Virtualization Platform Architecture & Operations
•    Architect, deploy, and operate enterprise VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi) and Microsoft Hyper V platforms.
•    Design and maintain high availability, clustering, and fault tolerant virtualization architectures.
•    Own the end to end virtualization lifecycle including builds, upgrades, patching, capacity planning, performance tuning, and decommissioning.
•    Integrate virtualization platforms with storage, backup, networking, monitoring, and security systems.

VMware vSphere Administration
•    Administer vCenter, ESXi hosts, clusters, HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, and resource pools.
•    Manage VM lifecycle operations, templates, snapshots, and performance optimization.
•    Perform platform upgrades and remediation with minimal disruption to workloads.
•    Troubleshoot complex VMware performance, stability, and availability issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
•    10–12+ years of experience in enterprise virtualization and infrastructure engineering.
•    Deep hands-on expertise in: 
o    VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, HA, DRS, vMotion)
o    Microsoft Hyper V and Failover Clustering
•    Strong experience with large scale virtualization environments and mission critical workloads.
•    Strong PowerShell / PowerCLI automation skills.
•    Proven experience delivering virtualization migrations, consolidations, and modernization programs.
•    Solid understanding of enterprise storage, networking, backup, and monitoring integrations.
•    Experience operating in regulated, high availability enterprise environments.
•    Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
•    Relevant VMware and Microsoft certifications preferred.
•    Nice to have – certifications around VMWare and Hyper-V
