Job Title: Test Automation Engineer, AVP

Location: Pune, India

Role Description

  • Partner with business, technology managers and Risk & Control team to create and maintain the testing stack and execute the programs.
  • Participate in the full SDLC with major focus on Test Automation for frontend and backend APIs
  • Aspirational to deliver state of the art solutions and be hands-on technologist who has not lost their passion to code
  • Ensure a high-quality standard of deliverables according to industry standards and best practices
  • Establish and track KPIs (e.g Defect Leakage, Automation Coverage, Test Strategy) to provide transparency to stakeholders
  • Lead and grow a team of SDETs and functional testers providing technical guidance and coaching

Your key responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable, modular automation framework from scratch for Web (UI) and APIs
  • Evaluate and implement the right tools based on project needs. Expert level proficiency in selenium and playwright is expected
  • Seamlessly integrate automation suites into DevOps pipelines with minimal support. Knowledge of GitHub Actions is good to have.
  • Conduct code reviews for automation scripts to ensure maintainability and adherence to best practices
  • Plan, execute and document manual tests in case test automation is not applicable.
  • Work in a cross disciplined agile team with shared responsibility and high autonomy and actively engage in test and engineering community, share your knowledge, and build up a solid network
  • Work in agile team with full awareness of all scrum ceremonies and actively engage in Retrospectives with feedback
  • Communicate any testing challenges to all stakeholders with full transparency to prevent bug leakage or system crash in production

Your skills and experience

  • University degree with technological or scientific focus or equivalent working experience.
  • Practical experience in designing test automation framework with hands on expertise in Selenium, Playwright, Karate and tools like Postman, Bruno, DB SQL.
  • Good knowledge of Java and JavaScript / NodeJS as well as with CI environments like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Practical experience in manual software testing including creation, execution, and documentation of manual test. Well versed with Test Management tools like Allure TestOps or JIRA Zephyr.
  • Problem solving mindset to identify bottlenecks in SDLC and fix them before they impact delivery
  • Ability to translate complex technical risks to non-technical business stakeholders and executives
  • Good Communication skills and a team player who likes to share content and best practices, learn quickly, and listen carefully.
