Workday Specialist - T&A Reporting

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Solution Engineer with a specific focus on Time and Attendance, Absence and Shift Scheduling Solutions. As an integral member of our People platform team, you will be instrumental in designing solutions for our frontline workers across our global footprint.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Workday solutions, paired with an extensive understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of time and attendance systems. This position is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker who is prepared to leverage their expertise to drive our technology roadmap and enable our people to work more efficiently and effectively.

Designs, develops, tests, delivers, maintains and improves business applications as a member of a team. The software engineer can work across the full stack or be specialized in e.g. the frontend or the backend - through the entire software development lifecycle. Prioritizes efficient code production by using open-source frameworks and patterns.

Configure/Develop and Optimize People Systems

Contribute to the configuration and development of Workday Time, Absence and Reporting system to support evolving business processes, improve usability, and ensure scalable system design. Also be well versed with workday reporting to provide reporting solutions that supports T&A configurations.

Provide Advanced System Support

Independently investigate and resolve complex system issues, identify root causes, and drive improvements to enhance system reliability and employee experience.

Manage System Integrations and Data Loads

Take ownership of system integrations or data loads, ensuring accurate and timely data exchange between People Systems and platforms such as payroll, finance, and learning systems.

Work in Projects and Agile Sprints

Participate actively in project execution using Agile methodologies, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and iterative delivery.

Support Releases and Enhancements

Coordinate and execute system releases, test new functionality, and collaborate with stakeholders on rollout planning, change impact, and enablement.

Process Improvement and Automation

Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, or increase efficiency through configuration enhancements or automation tools.

Collaborate with Senior Engineers/Solution Architects and Stakeholders, Guide Associates

Work closely with other senior team members, People teams, IT, and cross-functional partners to define system solutions; mentor junior team members and review their configuration work when needed.

Document Configuration and Processes

Create and maintain clear documentation for system configurations, business processes, data flows, and integration points.

Stay Informed on People Tech Trends

Keep up with changes in People technology platforms and contribute ideas to enhance systems and employee experience.

Engage in Continuous Skill Development

Expand knowledge in People Systems and adjacent tools through advanced hands-on work, formal learning, certifications, and cross-functional collaboration.

Profile:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Workday, with strong expertise in Workday Reporting and Analytics(Advanced, Matrix, Trending, Composite Reports).

• Solid understanding of Workday Core HCM, Time and Absence Module with additional Workday functional areas that needs reporting support.

• Experience working in large-scale, global environments, collaborating with distributed teams across regions.

• Strong background in interpreting business requirements and building complex Workday reports, including:

  • Custom and advanced reports
  • Matrix & composite reports
  • Calculated fields (expert-level proficiency)

• Ability to design, build, and optimize Workday dashboards, embedded analytics, scorecards, and report-as-a-service (RaaS) outputs.

• Experience working with Workday Web Services, EIBs, and reporting data sources such as Workday Prism Analytics (preferred).

• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies, new reporting frameworks, and evolving business requirements.

• Experience managing Workday configuration activities related to Reporting, including incident resolution, audit fixes, and data validation.

• Detail-oriented professional with the ability to manage highly confidential HR & Payroll data with integrity.

• Strong collaboration skills to partner effectively with functional consultants, software engineers, QA testers, and business stakeholders to resolve data/reporting issues.

• Prior experience working in Agile/iterative development environments, with familiarity in standard development methods and structured release processes.

• Proven experience working with global teams, vendor partners, and offshore resources, ensuring consistent reporting standards.

• Understanding of HR and Payroll business processes and how they translate into Workday data models and reporting structures.

• Prior experience in an HRIS, HR, or service centre environment is an added advantage, especially involving data analysis or reporting responsibilities.
