Job Description (JD) – Pickup Driver
Position: Pickup Driver
Department: Logistics / Transport
Reporting To: Transport In-Charge / Logistics Manager
Job Purpose
To ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods, materials, and products between company locations, vendors, customers, and distribution points while maintaining vehicle safety and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Drive and operate the company pickup vehicle safely and responsibly.
Collect and deliver goods, materials, and documents as per assigned routes and schedules.
Ensure timely pickup and delivery to customers, vendors, milk collection centers, warehouses, or plant locations.
Load and unload materials carefully and ensure proper handling during transit.
Verify delivery challans, invoices, gate passes, and other transport-related documents.
Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, vehicle mileage, and delivery status.
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues or maintenance requirements.
Ensure vehicle cleanliness and proper upkeep at all times.
Follow all traffic rules, safety regulations, and company transportation policies.
Coordinate with dispatch, stores, procurement, and logistics teams regarding delivery schedules.
Report accidents, delays, breakdowns, or any unusual incidents immediately to the reporting manager.
Assist in emergency transportation requirements as directed by management.
Perform any other duties assigned by Management as per company requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10th Pass.
Valid LMV/Transport Driving License.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Pickup Driver or Commercial Vehicle Driver.
Good knowledge of local routes and road safety regulations.
Skills Required
Safe driving practices.
Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
Time management and punctuality.
Ability to maintain records and documentation.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Honest, disciplined, and responsible attitude
