Job Description
Job Title: Fitter (Plywood Industry)Department: Maintenance / ProductionLocation: [Plant Location]Reporting To: Maintenance Supervisor / Plant EngineerJob Summary:The Fitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment used in plywood manufacturing. This includes ensuring smooth operation of machines like peeling lathes, dryers, hot presses, and conveyors to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
- Key Responsibilities:Install, assemble, and align mechanical components and machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance of plywood manufacturing machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns (mechanical faults).
- Work on machines such as:
- Veneer peeling machines
- Dryer systems
- Glue spreaders
- Hot press machines
- Cutting and trimming machines
- Replace worn-out parts like bearings, belts, shafts, and gears.
- Ensure proper lubrication of machinery.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and machine manuals.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
