Job Responsibilities

As an Automation Engineer at Micron, your responsibilities will include:

• Automation Execution & Support: 

  • Support site automation systems such as Automated material Handling Systems,ASRS, AMR /AGVs, conveyors, and material tracking tools to ensure stable operations. Programming knowledge will be added advantage.

  • Execute assigned automation tasks independently under defined scope, following site and global standards, should have Hands on Experience on Mechanical Maintenance

  • Act as a key contributor during system installation, commissioning, ramp, and sustain phases. 

  Project Participation: 

  • Support automation project execution including layout reviews, IFC drawing reviews, checklist execution, and on-site activities. 

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Test and system buyoff activities, ensuring issues are identified, tracked, and resolved. 

  • Execute defined work packages within larger automation projects. 

  Cross‑ Functional Coordination: 

  • Work closely with Facilities, Manufacturing, IT/MES, Warehouse, and Equipment Engineering teams to support automation deployment. 

  • Interface with vendors and OEMs for issue resolution, testing, and clarification of requirements. 

  • Provide regular updates on assigned tasks, risks, and issues to leads and stakeholders. 

  Troubleshooting & Sustainment: 

  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of automation system issues impacting material movement. 

  • Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability and up time. 

  • Support preventive maintenance activities and system health monitoring. 

  • Should have well versed experience in servo, drives, controllers, conveyors, robot, sensors, mechanical systems, lifts, AGV, ARV etc... 

Key Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Proficiency in PLC programming will be added advantage
• Experience in machine maintenance.
• Expertise in teaching/programming robots/cobots.
• Familiarity with material handling systems and conveyor upkeep.
• Demonstrated background in the automotive and/or automation sectors.

Experience

We are seeking candidates of B.E./B.TECH Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation have 2-8 years of experience in automation, Maintenance, Manufacturing engineering. Your demonstrated success will enable us to stay competitive in the industry and reach challenging objectives.
