Job Description Summary

Welder or welding operator should have job knowledge in order to ensure that welding, Quality, Safety procedures are followed, and common practices are complied with on shop floor.

Role:

• Prioritize safety above all else by maintaining a rigorous adherence to safety standards and processes, ensuring that safety risks and issues are identified, reported, and addressed immediately.
• Understand and apply basic principles of Gouging & Welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW)
• Follow methods, standards, and work instructions to:
• Weld turbines and generators components by applying appropriate welding techniques: Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Shielding Metal Arc (SMAW) and Submerged Arc Welding (SAW).
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding processes.
• Set up and operate welding equipment: select appropriate materials, prep work piece in accordance with part geometry, properties of material and scope of welding & repair
• Inspect completed welds to determine weld quality.
• Embrace a culture of respect, valuing inclusive teams and diverse perspectives to direct and train others as assigned, enabling the flow of information by inviting participation and responding productively.
• Approach daily work with continuous improvement in mind, working to continuously develop and improve department practices to reduce cycle time, improve machine availability and efficiency, and lower operating costs.
• Operate grinding machine to prepare chamfering of parts.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

Basic Qualifications(requirements): 

 Experience gained on job during professional life: -

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Heavy Fabrication
• Qualified in GMAW-Must, GTAW, SMAW, SAW
• Must have Heavy fabrication experience, capable perform Groove welds (T Joints, Knuckle, Corner& Butt joints for thickness 40 mm above.
• Understanding of WPS/PQR/WPQ/WELD BOOK

Welder

Key Skills:

• GMAW (Must), GTAW, SMAW, SAW welding
• Heavy fabrication – groove welds (T-joint, butt, knuckle) on 30mm+ thickness
• Read & interpret WPS/PQR/WPQ, drawings
• Operate welding equipment & ensure weld quality

Fabrication Fitter

Key Skills:

• Heavy fabrication & fitting as per engineering drawings
• Operate power tools, grinding machines
• Understand SOPs, MOPs, KSL, tool sheets
• Basic welding/fabrication knowledge preferred
